How to Promote Your Event in a Memorable Way

If you’ve been put in charge of organizing and promoting a special event, you might be feeling overwhelmed with the responsibility. However, there is no reason you should let stress get in the way of the fun. After all, special events are usually meant to be lighthearted. Approaching your task with the same frame of mind can help you make the event a success. Certain items, such as custom plastic wristbands, can help in your endeavors, but should only be part of what goes into your planning. Here is how to plan and promote your event so you have the best chance of success.

Imagine, for example, that you’re in charge of a race for charity. Several weeks ahead of the event, you will want to start getting the word out. Begin by having your company’s website talk about the event. Spread the word on social media to build public interest. You might even want to advertise the race in local papers and on radio stations. Order freebies for attendees such as plastic wristbands, refrigerator magnets and special prizes that have your company’s website or other information. This can keep the public interested in your cause long after the race has concluded. Think about other things you may need to provide, such as water bottles and snacks. You don’t necessarily have to provide these items for free, but you can enlist the help of volunteers and other local businesses to donate additional items or provide them at a low cost. You might also ask businesses to contribute items or services to a raffle to attract attendees and help raise money for the charity.

On the day of the event, make sure you have a highly visible booth or other station set up so people can visit and learn more about your cause. Get involved, hand out fliers, plastic wristbands and other items, and just have fun. Organizing and promoting a special event can be exhausting, but it is also rewarding and a lot of fun to see your efforts come together for an activity that many people can enjoy and benefit from.
